Mason National Bank has been honored by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) in the Best of Community Banking Awards for 2004. The presentation was made during the organizations 30th Annual Convention in San Antonio.
The Mason institution received a Silver Award in Architectural Design, celebrating its 100th anniversary by transforming their building to recapture the historic character of the 1926 building, a former four-story hotel on the courthouse square.
The Best of Community Banking Awards were created by IBAT as a means of recognizing and encouraging community involvement by its member institutions. Projects are judged on innovation and creativity, number of people benefited or affected and the projects success in fulfilling an existing community need.
These awards have proven very successful in honoring community banks for doing what they do bestserving their communities, said Christopher Williston, president and CEO of IBAT, in announcing the winners. It is fitting that these institutions are recognized by their peers.
