2004 SILVER AWARD IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Best of Community Banking Awards
Independent Bankers Association of Texas

HONORS AWARDED TO LOCAL FINANCIAL LEADER
Mason National Bank has been honored by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) in the Best of Community Banking Awards for 2004. The presentation was made during the organization’s 30th Annual Convention in San Antonio.

The Mason institution received a Silver Award in Architectural Design, celebrating its 100th anniversary by transforming their building to recapture the historic character of the 1926 building, a former four-story hotel on the courthouse square.

The Best of Community Banking Awards were created by IBAT as a means of recognizing and encouraging community involvement by its member institutions. Projects are judged on innovation and creativity, number of people benefited or affected and the project’s success in fulfilling an existing community need.

“These awards have proven very successful in honoring community banks for doing what they do best—serving their communities,” said Christopher Williston, president and CEO of IBAT, in announcing the winners. “It is fitting that these institutions are recognized by their peers.”

IBAT is celebrating its 30th anniversary as the primary voice of the state’s community banks—characterized by maintaining corporate headquarters in Texas, being independently owned and operated and known by attention to customer service, lower fees and small business, agricultural and consumer lending.
